Weholite

Brochures

Weholite is a large diameter structural wall pipe made from special high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin. With Weholite, raw material properties have been combined with advanced product technology to create a lightweight engineered pipe with superior loading capacity. It is used to convey liquids or air, under ground, above ground or under water in low pressure applications up to 1 bar internal pressure.

Wide Range of Sizes

Weholite is tough, flexible, lightweight, shock and chemical resistant. It offers ease of installation and a long service life. Weholite is available in a wide range of sizes from 18” to 132” in diameter, and standard pipe lengths of 20’, 40’ and 50’. Special pipe lengths can be produced to meet almost any need.

Distinct Advantages

Weholite HPDE pipe offers distinct chemical and physical advantages over concrete or iron pipe.

Corrosion Resistant

HDPE pipe is inert to salt water and chemicals likely to be present in sanitary sewage effluent. It does not rust, rot, or corrode.

Flexible: The flexibility of Weholite means it has a high strain tolerance to withstand even the harshest conditions. It is virtually unbreakable even in freezing conditions.

Light Weight: HPDE pipe is much lighter than similar sized concrete pipe. This plus longer lengths allow for significant savings in labor and equipment.

Stiffness & Fittings

Weholite is also available in several stiffness classes of pipe, designated by Pipe Stiffness and Ring Stiffness Constant (RSC) of up to RSC 400. The superior performance of this product in most piping applications results from the combination of pipe and fittings designed to work together as a complete system. A full range of fittings is available to suit any application.

Joining Systems

Various jointing methods are available to suit different application requirements. The most commonly used is thermal extrusion welding. Extrusion welding provides an economical and fast method of delivering a complete, long, continuous length of pipe. The joints are as strong as the pipe itself, providing a continuous leak proof system.

Proven in Many Applications

Since 1959, large diameter HDPE pipe has been used successfully in many installations worldwide. Weholite pipe has proven itself in applications including:

  • Biofilters
  • Culverts
  • Drainage Systems
  • Gravity Sewers
  • Hydroelectric
  • Irrigation
  • Manholes Municipal Low Pressure Projects
  • Pipe Rehabilitation & Relining
  • Sanitary Sewers
  • Storage Tanks
  • Storm Drains & Sewers
  • Water Intakes
  • Water Outfalls
